Pleasantville, N.Y. – The Post University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 season-opening match to the University of New Haven Chargers (UNH) on Thursday afternoon on the campus of Pace University.
The Eagles trailed 1-0 at the half before Alyssa Hebb tied the game in the 59th minutes on a perfect through ball from Hailey McGee as Hebb split two defenders going into the box to put home her first goal of the season and third of her career.
The Chargers, however, would score in the 75th minute on a goal from Elizabeth Anderson. It would end up being the game-winner.
UNH (1-0) opened up the scoring in the 39th minutes on a goal from Dakota Cimetta.
Imelda Lazaro (0-1) had six saves on goal for the Eagles (0-1), including a diving stop on a breakaway off the foot of Madison Blonde to keep the game at 1-0 shortly before Hebb's goal.
Hailey McGee led the Eagles with four shots.
Up next, the Eagles take on the host, Pace at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th in a non-conference game.
