Pleasantville, N.Y. - Hailey McGee scored two goals as Post University women's soccer team led at halftime before succumbing to Pace, 4-2 in a non-conference match.
For McGee, it was the second multi-goal game of her career. She had a hat trick in 2019 against Concordia.
After the Eagles (0-2) fell behind 1-0 just ten minutes in, McGee got Post on the board with a goal inside the box after a throw-in and a deflection in the box towards her to tie the game up at 1-1 in the 18th minute.
Just ten minutes later, McGee would score her second of the day on a cross from
Imani Young to the far corner of the net to McGee who put it home to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead they'd take into the half.
In the second half the Setters (1-0-1) would score in the 62nd minute by Ceci Puentes and took the lead four minutes later on a goal from Shannon Savaggio. They'd add one more for insurance in the 81st.
The Eagles had eight shots on the day, led by McGee with five.
Imelda Lazaro had three saves in net for the Eagles.
Up next, the Eagles head to AIC on August 30 in a non-conference match beginning at 7 p.m.
