Olah Ties Conference RBI Mark In Doubleheader Loss To Chestnut Hill

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University baseball team dropped both ends of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader against Chestnut Hill College, 8-0 and 12-5 on Saturday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.

The Eagles are now 20-25 on the season and 15-8 in the CACC.

In game two, Robert Olah tied the CACC single season record for RBI in a season. He currently has 65, tying Robert Diesel of Felician who accomplished the feat in 2018.

With the Eagles down 5-0 in the bottom of the third in game two, Olah hit a two-run homer that also scored Hunter Keller to make it a 5-2 game. It was Olah's tenth homer of the year, one short of the school record.

The Griffins (19-21, 10-11 CACC) scored the next seven runs – including three runs on both the fifth and sixth inning - taking a 12-2 lead. The Eagles rallied in the seventh for three runs, including a two-run triple from Olah, that made it a 12-4 game. He would later score on a wild pitch. It would be all the Eagles would get the rest of the day.

Olah was 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI. Jordan Glazer was 2-for-4. Jimmy Brennan was 2-for-3.

Andrew Dietz was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI for Chestnut Hill. Corbin Dunnuck was 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In game one, the Eagles managed just two hits in the shutout loss from Brennan and Chris Corchado.

The Griffins scored two in the fifth to break the scoreless tie, they would ad six more in the top of the seventh, highlighted by back-to-back RBI triples from Sam Barletta and Dunnuck.

Jacob Tamburrino struck out three in 6.1 innings of work.

Up next, the Eagles conclude the regular season with a doubleheader on the road against Caldwell beginning at noon.
