Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University baseball team scored in the first five innings of the game and Chas Cywin had ten strikeouts as the Eagles defeated Caldwell, 15-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles have now won three straight and are 20-23 overall and 15-6 in the CACC.
After Cywin struck out the side in the first, Jordan Glazer got the Eagles on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the inning.
Caldwell would get two back in the top of the second on a two-run homer before the Eagles scored five runs in both the second and third innings.
In the second, Hunter Keller hit a two-run single followed by Jimmy Brennan and Robert Olah RBI singles to give Post the 5-2 lead. Glazer would add a sacrifice fly.
The third saw more offense as Michael Pavelchak hit a two-run single, followed by another RBI single from Keller. Glazer capped the inning with a two-run triple to right.
Brennan added an RBI double in the fourth followed by a two-run double by Olah.
Olah finished the day 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run. Brennan was 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Glazer was 2-for-3 with four RBI. Pavelchak was 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs.
Cywin's ten strikeouts were the second highest total in his career in a game. He struck out 11 in a 2021 game against Dominican.
