Cassiliano Scores Ten Times – Ties Her Own Record - In Women’s Lacrosse Win

Waterbury, Conn. – For the second time this season, Morgan Cassiliano scored ten goals in the game – tying her own school record - as the Post University women's lacrosse team defeated Chestnut Hill, 21-11 on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.

Cassiliano – who also holds the career goals scored record for Post – also scored ten in a win over Nyack on March 30.

With the win, the Eagles are now 5-10 overall and 4-4 in the CACC, clinching a spot in the CACC tournament.

Four different Eagles scored in the first quarter ad Molly Dobratz, Athlyn Wood, Cassiliano and Cara DiStefano put goals on the board for the Eagles as they took a 4-1 lead after the first quarter.

Post would lead 5-1 after Cassiliano's second goal to kick off the second before the Griffins rallied to make it a 5-4 game after three straight goals. Dobratz, Gabrielle Fiora, Cassiliano and DiStefano each scored in the second, putting Post up 9-6 heading to the break.

The Eagles four of the first five goals of the third as Hailey McHenry, Dobratz and Cassiliano's two goals gave Post some breathing room up 13-7. They'd go into the fourth up 14-10.

In the fourth, Cassiliano scored five times, including four times in the final 7:14 to put the game away for the Eagles.

Cassilliano also had two assists on the day, as her 12 points also tied a career high. McHenry added three assists, Lexi Levy had a goal and an assist and Dobratz finished with four goals, while DiStefano and Fiora each had a pair.

Cassiliano now has 68 goals on this season, extending her school season record, and leading the CACC in scoring.

In net, Emma Hillman earned her first win, stopping seven shots.

Danielle Vassallo led the Griffins with four goals. Rexney Thenor had two goals and an assist.

Up next, the Eagles close out their regular season with a road game at Holy Family at 1 p.m. on April 23.
