Queens, N.Y. - The Post University baseball team's rally from an early deficit fell short in a 6-3 loss to Queens College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game.
After conceding the first six runs of the game, including three runs from the Knights in the fourth, the Eagles started their rally in the top of the sixth.
Jimmy Brennan started with a one out, followed by a single from
Harry Allegra that advanced Brennan to third.
Robert Olah followed with a sacrifice fly to score Brennan.
Evan Cornwell singled to put runners on first and second but were unable to score anymore runs in the inning.
In the seventh, a one out double from
Matt Goehrig got another rally going for the Eagles. After
Michael Pavelchak reached on an error followed by a wild pitch, Brennan had a sacrifice fly of his own, but the Eagles would leave two runners on in the inning.
The eighth started with a bang as Olah hit his fourth homer of the season. Again, the Eagles would put two runners on, but were unable to get anymore runs across the plate.
Michael Kennedy started the game, striking out four in 3.2 innings.
Travvis Ferguson came in relief and had five strikeouts.
Andrew Smith was 1-for-4 with three RBI, coming on a home run in the bottom of the fourth for Queens.
Up next, the Eagles begin their Spring Break trip on March 13.
