Post Softball Drops A Pair In Florida

Orlando, FL – The Post University softball team dropped a pair of games to West Chester and Saint Michael's on Thursday. In the first game, West Chester won, 5-2. In the nightcap against Saint Michael's, the Eagles lost, 7-2.

In game one against West Chester, the Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Bailee Zaccaro drove in a run on a double followed, by an RBI groundout from Allyson Wallauer.

West Chester added one run in the second and third, and one in the fourth on a solo homer from Abigail Quinn to give the Golden Rams a 3-2 lead. Quinn tacked on a two-run single in the sixth to put West Chester up, 5-2.

Brianna Koref pitched a complete game, striking out two.

In the second game against Saint Michael's, after giving up a run in the top of the first, the Eagles scored one each in the bottom of the first and second on an RBI groundout from Zaccaro and were the beneficiary of an error on a ball hit by Caitlin DeAngelis, giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

The Purple Knights scored one in the third on a homer by Haley Waghorn to tie the game and a two-run single by Hannah Arruda to take a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth.

Saint Michael's scored one in the top of the fifth and two more on a two-run homer in the seventh by Meghan Connor.

DeAngelis, Zaccaro and Bailey Dickenson each had two hits for the Eagles in the game, as Post finished with eight hits on the day.

Up next, the Eagles wrap up their Spring Break trip with an 11:15 game against Slippery Rock followed by a 1:30 p.m. game against Wayne State.
