Rutherford, N.J. - A second half surge helped lead the Post University men's basketball team to an 89-76 win over Felician on Saturday evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
The win ends the regular season for the Eagles at 19-8 overall and 15-2 in CACC.
Three players scored in double figures for the Eagles, led by
David Jasson with 23.
Devonte McCall had 21 and
D.J. Frechette had 18.
The Eagles trailed 64-61 before a layup from
Jordan Williams sparked a run. Jasson followed with the next eight points, including two threes nd Williams made another layup off a turnover, and within a span of 2:28, the Eagles were up 73-66.
Another layup and a steal and layup from
Tyler Small gave the Eagles a 77-66 lead.
The Golden Falcons trimmed the lead to seven multiple times, but the Eagles were able to finish the game with an 8-2 run, including holding Felician scoreless over the final 2:56 of the game.
The first half saw the Eagles jump out to a 16-4 lead, led by seven points from Frechette early on.
Post led by as much as 16 in the first half at 27-11 after a three from Small with 11:30 remaining.
Felician rallied for a 32-16 run to close out the half and the teams were tied going into the second half.
Abdul-Basit Ajia was a monster on the glass, grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds to go with seven points. Post out rebounded Felician, 47-28.
Nas Amos led five Felician players in double figures with 22 points.
The Eagles seeded first in the North will host Wilmington, seeded fourth in the South at 5:30 p.m. at the Drubner Center on March 1 in the first round of the CACC tournament.
