Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Chas Cywin struck out nine batters, but the Eagles fell, 6-1 to Franklin Pierce on Friday evening.
Cywin put together an outing of eight innings, three runs - two earned - to go along with his nine strikeouts.
The loss puts the Eagles at 2-3 on the season.
Harry Allegra got the Eagles in the board with a home run in the top of the second to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the time.
The Ravens tied the game in the top of the third on a steal of home by Graham Smith. Smith also had an RBI double that gave the Ravens a 2-1 lead in the fifth.
Franklin Pierce tacked on a run in the eighth and three in the ninth on home runs from Jake Miller and Jose Savinion.
Michael Pavelchak went 2-for-3 for the Eagles, including a double.
The Eagles will take on Queens College in a doublehead on Saturday.
