Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's lacrosse team lost a 10-6 season opener to Saint Michael's on Saturday afternoon.

Morgan Cassiliano led the way with five goals for the Eagles.

After falling behind 1-0 at the 11:12 mark, Cassiliano scored three straight goals, giving the Eagles the early 3-1 lead.

Post would lead 3-2 at the end of the first.

After Saint Michael's took the lead back with goals from Catie Murphy and Paige Fleming, the Eagles tied it with 2:01 remaining in the second quarter as Cara Distefano took a pass from Hailey McHenry to score her first of the season.

Saint Michaels scored four times in the third to take an 8-4 lead before an early goal from Cassiliano in the fourth made it an 8-5 game. She would tack on one more goal in the period.

Christina Badaracco had 16 saves in net for the Eagles.

Up next, the Eagles get their first road test, as they head to the University of the District of Columbia on Feb. 22.
