Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's hockey team scored a season-high in goals, defeating Saint Michael's, 6-0 in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) match on Saturday evening.
The Eagles scored two in each period, all from six different scorers.
Madison Turley got the Eagles on the board after taking a rebound off a blocked shot from Angeline Pitter, backhanding it into the net for her second goal of the season at the 16:15 mark.
Just before the period ended, Sadie Storm scored her sixth of the season, putting in a rebound off a shot from Caisey Van Den Oetelaar.
In the second period, Kiersten Browning scored her sixth goal of the season on a rebound off a shot from Sheridan Terrazzano, making it a 3-0 game. Less than five minutes later, Jenna Abeyta stuffed a shot into the net for her fourth goal of the season.
The Eagles tacked on two more goals for insurance in the third as Catherine Proulx scored her fourth of the season, and Delaney Mayer scored her first career goal.
Grace Glasrud earned her second shutout of the season, stopping 32 shots.
Up next, the Eagles (6-23, 3-15 NEWHA) take on Long Island University on the road at 3 p.m. on Feb. 25.
