South Burlington, VT – The Post University women's hockey team lost a 5-1 New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game to Saint Michael's on Friday evening.
Post is now 5-23 overall and 2-15 in NEWHA. Saint Michael's improves to 3-17-1 overall and 1-13-1 in the conference.
After the Purple Knights scored two goals within the first six minutes of the first period, the Eagles got on the board with a goal from
Sadie Storm – her fifth of the season – to make it a 2-1 game. Storm took a pass from
Kiersten Browning and took a shot from the slot past the glove side of Saint Michael's goaltender Leah White.
Saint Michael's added one more goal in the first to make it a 3-1 game heading to the second period.
The Purple Knights scored one more goal in the second and third period. Five different Purple Knights scored. Mary Leys and
Angelina Ruiz had a goal and assist for Saint Michael's.
Lexi Levy had 24 saves in net for the Eagles, including 12 in the second period.
Catherine Proulx won 11 of her 17 faceoffs. Post had 34 shots on goal with Storm and
Sajel Desai leading the way with six apiece.
The two teams meet again on Saturday on the road with a 3:40 p.m. opening faceoff.
