New Haven, CT - The Post University men's hockey team lost a 4-1 non-conference game to in-state rival Albertus Magnus on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles are now 3-10 on the season while Albertus Magnus moves to 8-3.
Post struck first with
Patrick Murphy scoring his third goal of the year at the 15:55 mark in the first. On the goal,
Tommy Buis stole the puck and passed it off to Murphy who crossed the blue line a fired a wrist shot just in front of the faceoff circle to make it a 1-0 game.
The Eagles took the lead into the second period, but Alex Gagnon of the Falcons scored just 22 seconds into the period to tie the game. Caden Pattison scored one at the 13:03 mark as Albertus Magnus took a 2-1 lead into the third.
The Falcons tacked on two more goals from Tyler Ignazzitto and Bradley Farrell.
Post finished with 15 shots on net, with Murphy leading the way with four. Murphy also won 16 of his 29 faceoffs.Â
Benjamin Cunneen stopped 46 shots, his second-highest total of the season.
Post still leads the all-time series against the Falcons, 3-2.
Up next, the Eagles will play their final game of the 2022 calendar and host Assumption at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. The Eagles will not play again until January 6.
