Winchendon, Ma. – The Post University women's hockey team lost the back end of its weekend series to Franklin Pierce, 7-2 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) action on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 1-0 1:57 into the game,
Madeleine Noonan tied the game up at the 7:42 mark with her third goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 with assists from
Kiersten Browning and
Caisey Van Den Oetelaar.
Less than a minute later the Ravens (7-8-1, 5-4-1 NEWHA) responded with a goal, and scored four more additional unanswered goals, taking a 6-1 lead with 5:33 remaining in the third.
Post (2-15-0, 2-10-0 NEWHA) got back on the board with a goal from
Sadie Storm, who took a pass from Browning who was behind the net. The puck found storm right in front of the net and she scored her first of the season at the 7:08 mark of the third.
Hannah Saunders and
Grace Glasrud combined for 40 saves on the day for the Eagles.
Post had 18 shots on net, with Terrazzano leading the way with five. Noonan led the Eagles with ten faceoff wins.
Browning finished the weekend with two goals and two assists.
The Ravens added one more goal at the 12:58 mark. Seven different Ravens had a goal, five of which also had an assist, including Grace Schuck, Kylie Huseth, Mikayla Kelley, Avery Farrell and Jenna Ruiz.
Up next, the Eagles will take on Wesleyan on the road on December 6 at 7 p.m.
