Women's Hockey Scores Late In Loss To Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Post University women's hockey team concluded its weekend series with Syracuse University with a 6-1 loss to the Orange on Saturday afternoon.

Sajel Desai scored the lone goal for the Eagles on the day in the third period; her second of the season. Desai's goal came at the 10:46 mark in the period on a power play when Jenna Abeyta stole a puck at the blue line, passed it off to Sheridan Terrazzano, who found Desai at the right faceoff circle who ripped a shot past Syracuse goaltender, Amelia Van Vilet to make it a 6-1 game at the time.

The Orange (7-9-1) got on the board with three in the first, including two just nine seconds apart from Rayla Clemons and Sarah Thompson. They'd add one more in the second and two more in the third, including a second goal from Thompson, who also had an assist on the day.

Post (1-13-0) finished with ten shots on the day, with Taylor Holm and Abeyta leading the way with three apiece. Tristan Currie led the Eagles with nine faceoff wins.

In net, Grace Glasrud had a career-high 57 saves.

The Eagles return home on Tuesday with a New England Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) matchup against Saint Anselm at 3:30 p.m.
