Shelton, CT - The Post University men's ice hockey team lost a 6-1 game to Western New England University on Tuesday afternoon at The Rinks at Shelton.
The loss moves the Eagles to 3-5 on the season.
After allowing a goal 8:31 into the game wot Billy Hefferle of the Golden Bears (3-6-0), the Eagles knotted up the game with just over a minute remaining in the first when Brandon Crowther scored his second goal of the season as Robert Carr centered a pass in front of the net for a goal to tie the game just before the end of the period.
The Golden Bears tacked on two goals - one on a power play - and three more in the third. Hefferle scored his second of the game and added an assist.
Drew Blodgett had 25 saves on the day for Post. Nick Brewer led the Eagles with seven shots on goal.
Conner Murray led the Eagles winning eight faceoffs on the day. Crowther won seven.
Up next, the Eagles play back-to-back games against loval teams on the road, as they take on Wesleyan at 7 p.m. on Nov. 26 and Trinity on Nov. 27 in Hartford, CT at 2 p.m.
