Waterbury, Conn. – Nicholas Anagnostiadis scored his first career hat trick and the Eagles scored early and often in a 9-0 win over D'Youville on Saturday at LaMoy Field.
The nine goals tied a program record, matched only by a 9-0 win over Nyack in 2018.
Post scored just 56 seconds into the game as
Gentian Selimi ripped a shot 25 yards out that bounced off the right post and in for the 1-0 lead.
Anagnostiadis got his scoring going just 39 seconds later, taking a pass from
Pablo Tenorio, making a good first touch and striking from the top of the 18 yard box for his third goal of the season.
Tenorio himself got into the scoring at the 10:16 mark, taking a rebound off a off the Post for his first goal of the season.
Selimi scored his second goal of the game, taking a pass from Tenorio, and used some fancy footwork to get past Saints goalkeeper Ethan Picard for a virtually empty net to make it a 4-0 game.
Anagnostiadis put his second goal of the game to make it 5-0 on another pass from Tenorio inside the box. He added his final goal at 38
th minute on a header in a battle for the ball with Picard off a pass from
Deni Iljazi.
Iljazi also had a goal on the day in the 34
th minute on a penalty kick.
Alberto Solaeta scored his second of the season on a pass from
Stephen Sprowson.
Post added one more goal in the second half as
James Gerbier scored his first career goal.
Post outshot the Saints (1-10-0), 20-1, with Iljazi leading the way with four.
Anagnostiadis now leads the Eagles in goals with five and points with ten.
Tenorio had a career-high three assists.
