Bridgewater, Mass. - The Post University women's hockey team took Stonehill to overtime, but lot, 4-3 in a New England Women's Hockey match on Friday evening.
With the Eagles trailing, 3-2 at 17:12Â in the third,
Kiersten Browning took a shot from the point that hit off a stick and into the net past Stonehill goaltender, Eve Stone.
Stonehill's Gracie Sacca would score the game-winner for Stonehill at the 3:26 mark in overtime.
The scoring began in the second period as
Sheridan Terrazzano scored her second goal of the season just 31 seconds in on a power play as she took a pass from
Jenna Abeyta in the slot, ripping home a goal to make it 1-0, Post.
After Stonehill tied the game 2:35 into the third,
Sajel Desai scored the second power play goal of the evening for the Eagles, putting Post up, 2-1 at 14:28.
The Skyhawks answered with two straight goals in less than a minute, taking a 3-2 lead a the 15:05 mark, just before Browning's goal.
Stonehill outshot Post 34-16.
Tymmarie Grom led the Eagles with three shots.
Hannah Saunders had 30 saves for the Eagles.
The two teams meet again on Saturday at Stonehill at 1 p.m.
