Jersey City, N.J. – The Post University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Alliance University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Tuesday afternoon.
It was the first tie for the Eagles on the season, who are now 7-3-1 on the season and 5-1-1 in the CACC.
Francisco Sousa scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 27
th minute to give Post a 1-0 lead on a breakaway down the left side, ripping a shot past Alliance goalkeeper, Marco Roessle.
Post went into the half with the 1-0 lead, but Alliance (2-6-3, 2-3-2 CACC) was able to tie the game as Javier Plaza took a rebound off a shot off the crossbar to make it a 1-1 game in the 57
th minute.
Sousa led the Eagles in shots with five. They had 13 as a team.
Soren Jensen had four saves on the day in net for the Eagles. He is 2-0-1 this season.
Post is now 11-8-4 overall against Alliance, including 8-1-1 in the last ten.
