Waterbury, CT- The Post University football team lost a 42-19 game to Franklin Pierce at Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Post struck first on a 27 yard touchdown pass to
Robert Oliverio as
Broghean McGovern floated the pass perfectly to the front corner of the endzone, as Post took a 7-0 lead.
The Ravens scored two touchdowns in the first, on runs by Alex Benitez and Christian Keeli to take a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.Â
Franklin Pierce took a 28-7 lead in the second on an interception return from Jaden Clark, but the Eagles responded on an 11 yard touchdown pass to
Joshua Tracey who caught a pass on the back corner of the endzone. After a blocked PAT, the Ravens led 28-13 into the half.
Post again would be the first to score in the second half, this time on a 32-yard touchdown pass to
Christian Collin to put the cherry on top of a seven play 92 yard drive.
However, it would be the last bit of scoring the Eagles would do as on the first play of the subsequent drive, Austyn Howe of Franklin Pierce caught a 60 yard touchdown pass from Bryce Macina. The Ravens added one more on a 31 yard touchdown run from Keeli.
McGovern finished the game 15-for-41 for 240 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions. Collin had six catches for 95 yards. and a touchdown.
Ivory Parker led the Egles with ten tackles and a sack.
Regan Cherry had eight tackles.
Antwan Walden picked off his sixth pass for the year for the Eagles.
Macina was 11-for-17 with 136 yards and two touchdowns and an interception. Keeli had 13 carries for 84 yards.
