Waterbury, CT – The Post University women's volleyball team made quick work of Felician in a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17. 25-15) sweep on Thursday evening at the Drubner Center in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
With the win, the Eagles are now 8-19 on the season and 6-10 in the CACC. Felician moves to 2-24 overall and 2-14 in the CACC.
The Eagles jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first set, as
Lydimar Soto had two aces while
Aniya Goodman and
Datari Mathis each had a kill in the opening run. Post never led by less than four the rest of the set, going on an 11-2 run to finish the set, including seven straight points. Soto had three kills in the set.
The Eagles jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the second set as
Izabella Rae had two aces early on.
Datari Mathis had four of her team-high 11 kills in the set, while
Madelynn Boop and Soto each had three.
In the final set, the Eagles once again jumped out to a sizable lead with a 7-2 run to start, with all points coming on kills as Mathis had three, Boop had two while
Maria Fernanda Branco and
Aniya Goodman had one. The Eagles were never threatened in the set, and scored the last four points, the final on a kill from Soto.
Soto finished with ten kills, while
Alyssa Groves had a team-high five aces and 15 digs. Branco had 22 assists and ten digs.
Izabella Rae had 12 assists and two aces. Boop finished with eight kills.
Up next, the Eagles will host Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, October 29 at 11 a.m. at the Drubner Center for its final home game of the season.
