Women’s Soccer Hangs Tough With Jefferson, But Loses CACC Match

Waterbury, CT – In a battle of two of the top three teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the Post University women's soccer team lost a 2-1 game to Thomas Jefferson University on Saturday afternoon.

Fitore Kllobocishta scored the lone goal of the game for the Eagles, her first of the season. In the 17th minute on a throw-in, Hailey McGee launched the ball into the box, which took a high bounce that Kllobocishta headed into the net to give Post the 1-0 lead.

The Eagles went into the half with the lead and held it until the 65th minute when Jefferson's Grace Kenville took a shot at an angle that bounced off the left post and into the net to tie the game, 1-1.

The Rams took advantage of a foul in the box on Post in the 82nd minute as Kiery Spatz scored on a penalty shot to give the Rams a 2-1 lead in the 82nd minute.

Imelda Lazaro had five saves for the Eagles.

Jefferson came into the game in second place in the CACC and ranked fifth in the East Region.

The Eagles wrap up their regular season on the road on Tuesday, October 25 against Dominican at 2 p.m.
