Waterbury CT - The Post University women's volleyball team rallied from a seven point deficit in the fourth set to defeat Dominican 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22) on Tuesday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
Post is now 6-15 overall and 4-7 in the CACC. Dominican is 9-10 and 7-4, respectively.
The Eagles were dow 15-8 in set four, the Eagles went on a 14-3 run to take a 22-18 lead. Post had three aces during the difference-making run. THe Chargers scored the next four points to tie the match at 22-22, but Post scored the last three, capped by an ace by
Alyssa Groves to take the match.
After losing a close first set, the Eagles started set two up 10-3 before the Chargers responded with a 17-8 run of their own which gave them a 20-18 lead. Post finished the set on a 7-3 run capped by a kill from
Aniya Goodman as the Eagles tied the match, 1-1.
In set three, the Eagles took a 19-10 lead to take command and held off any comeback attempt by the Chargers to go up 2-1.
Goodman and
Madelynn Boop both finished with a team-high ten kills.
Lydimar Soto had 15 digs.
Izabella Rae led Post in blocks with four and assists with 32.
Lynnise Castillo had 4 aces.
Post is back in action on Thursday, October 13 as they host New Haven at 7 p.m. at the Drubner Center.
