Shelton, CT – The Post University women's hockey team lost a 3-0 New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game to Sacred Heart University on Tuesday afternoon at The Rinks at Shelton.
With the loss, the Eagles are now 1-5 on the season and in NEWHA. Sacred Heart moves to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in NEWHA.
Grace Glasrud made the start in net, finishing with 33 saves on the day, including all nine shots she faced in the final period. It was a season-high for her.
The Pioneers got on the board in the first period with 13 seconds remaining to make it a 1-0 game on a goal from Kailey Smith.
Sacred Heart would add a power play goal from Paige McNeil in the second followed by a Delani Mackay goal at the 7:57 mark.
Post had 12 shots on goal on the day, with Madeline Noonan leading the way with four. Noonan also led the Eagles in faceoff wins in 11 as Post won the overall faceoff battle, 29-22.
