Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women’s Hockey Wins First Game, Gets First Victory For Silverman

South Burlington, VT – The Post University women's ice hockey team won its first game of the season under new head coach Gretchen Silverman on Saturday evening, 2-0 over Saint Michael's in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game.

Post split the weekend series with the Purple Knights and are now 1-1 on the season.

Sheridan Terrazzano got the scoring done early for the Eagles, just 39 seconds into the game as she broke away from two defenders at the blue line by the boards and took a wrist shot that went off the pads of Saint Michael's goaltender, Leah White to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.

The game would go scoreless until one second remaining when Kiersten Browning scored her second goal in as many games on an empty net goal.

In her first career start, Hannah Saunders earned a shutout, stopping all 34 shots she faced.

Post had 36 shots on goal on the day, with Terrazzano and Jenna Abeyta – who assisted on Terrazzano's goal – leading the way with six.

Up next, the Eagles open up its home season taking on Sacred Heart at 1 p.m. at The Rinks at Shelton on Tuesday, October 4.
