Lakewood, N.J. – The Post University men's soccer team won its second straight game to go along with its second straight shutout in a 4-0 win over Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon.
Carles Aliberch had three assists on the day, all coming off corner kicks that were headed in. It was a career-high in assists for Aliberch.
The win puts the Eagles at 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the CACC. The Lions are 2-8-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the CACC.
Nicholas Anagnostiadis scored his second goal in as many games to get the Eagles on the board in the 40
th minute. After a ball deflected off the Lions inside the box on an attempted clear, the ball made its way to Anagnostiadis who took a shot from the top corner of the box to make it a 1-0 lead for the Eagles.
Post took the lead going into the half and scored at the 55-minute mark as
Arnau Fabrega headed in the first corner kick from Aliberch for his first goal of the season.
Aliberch added two more assists in the second half as
Davide Mazza headed in a goal moments after he subbed back in to put the Eagles up, 3-0 in the 76
th minute. Just three minutes later,
Stephen Sprowson scored his first goal of the season off an Aliberch corner.
In net,
Soren Jensen earned his second straight shutout in as many starts, stopping three shots. The Eagles have seven shutouts this season, and have outscored opponents, 17-6 this season, including 15-2 in CACC games.
Post has won the last three matchups against Georgian Court and are 10-1-1 overall against the Lions.
