Shelton, Conn. – The Post University women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Anna Maria on Saturday evening at The Rinks at Shelton, with a 3-0 win.
Julia Wysocki led the way with two goals in the game for her first multi-goal game of her career.
She scored her first goal of the game at the 14:24 mark of the first period as She took a pass from
Elle McKenna and
Alexandrea Bednar and back-handed a shot past Anna Maria goaltender, Julia Smith to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.
Post went into the first intermission with that same lead and in a span of 12 seconds late in the second period, would score two consecutive goals.
After the puck was dumped into the Eagles' offensive zone, Smith misplayed the puck outside of the net and
Sadie Storm was there to take the loose puck and put it into the empty net to put Post up 2-0 at the 17:22 mark.
On the ensuing faceoff, McKenna found Wysocki again as she streaked down the ice and she ripped a wrist shot top shelf to give the Eagles their final goal of the game.
The two teams were scoreless in the final period.
Grace Glasrud earned her second win in net, and her first career shutout, stopping 24 shots on the night.
Post outshot the Amcats, 44-24, with Storm and Wysocki leading the way with eight apiece.
