Men's Hockey Falls To Saint Michael's

South Burlington, VT. – The Post University men's hockey team dropped a 7-1 Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) game to Saint Michael's on Saturday evening, splitting the weekend series.

With the loss, the eagles are now 6-10 overall and 4-5 in the NE10.

After conceding the first goal to Saint Michael's Tyler Dorval at 12:17, the Eagles got on the board just over a minute later as Patrick Murphy scored a goal in his second consecutive game – and fourth overall - as he took the puck the length of the ice along the boards, deked out a defender and put a shot over the left shoulder of Saint Michael's goaltender, Marshall Murphy to tie the game at the 13:46 mark.

The tie didn't last long as Saint Michael's scored at the 14:13 and 15:43 marks of the first period to take a 3-1 lead after the first period. The Purple Knights tacked on four more goals in the second period, three on power plays. Case Kantgias finished with two goals and an assist for Saint Michael's.

The Eagles had 32 shots on the day, with Murphy and Jake Raleigh leading the way with four apiece.

John Krapian won 14 of his 27 faceoffs, while Connor Barter won 13 of his 17 faceoffs.

Up next, the Eagles take on Assumption in a weekend series on January 28 and 29. Friday's game starts at 7:30, while Saturday's starts at 6:30 p.m.
