Marlborough, Mass. – The Post University women's hockey team scored in all three periods, taking down Anna Maria, 3-1 in a non-conference game on Friday evening.
The win puts the Eagles at 4-16 on the season.
Post got on the board early in the first period as
Emily Racco passed the puck to
Kiersten Browning in front of the net who then found
Sheridan Terrazzano, who stuffed home her first career goal at the 2:40 mark.
The Amcats tied the game less than two minutes later on a goal from Raven Carriere.
Both teams ended the period tied at 1-1, but it took the Eagles less than four minutes into the second period to take the lead back as
Sadie Storm to a pass from
Cassidy Elvidge, and took a wide open wrist shot that went past Anna Maria goaltender, Sam Dahil for her second goal of the season.
The Eagles added a bit of insurance in the third period as Browning scored an empty net goal with less than a minute remaining for the final tally.
The Eagles outshot the Amcats (5-7-1), 38-24, with
Julia Wysocki leading the way with eight.
Lexi Levy stopped 23 shots on the day for her first career win in net.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 8 p.m. at The Rinks at Shelton. It will be part of the Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Game.
