Men's Basketball Hits 15 Threes In Runaway Win Over Holy Family

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's basketball team hit 15 three-pointers, tying a season-high and was in full control of a 93-55 victory over Holy Family in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Sunday afternoon at the Drubner Center.

The Eagles now sit 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the CACC.

Tyler Small led the way for the Eagles, scoring a career-high 29 points on 7-for-11 shooting from three. David Jasson had 18 points and Devonte McCall had 14 points.
The Eagles opened up the game with a bang as McCall's baseline dunk set the tone for the rest of the game. After the Tigers took a brief 3-2 lead, Post scored the next ten points to take a 12-3 lead behind threes from Small and Jasson.

Holy Family (5-9, 0-4 CACC) closed the gap and it was a 30-24 post lead with 7:23 remaining before they went on a 20-5 run to close out the half as Small hit three more threes and another one from Jordan Williams as the Eagles went into the half leading 50-29. Small had 17 in the first half, while Abdul-Basit Ajia had six points and six rebounds in the half.

It was more of the same from the Eagles in the second half, extending its lead to 40-points at 72-32 after the Tigers scored the first three points of the half. McCall had six points during the run, Jasson had five and Ajia had four during the game-sealing stretch.

Post's biggest lead of the game came at the 1:45 mark when they took a 93-51 lead with 1:45 remaining.

Along with made three-pointers, the Eagles set a season-high in points, field goals made (35) and rebounds (56).

Ajia notched his first double-double of the season with ten points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles forced 20 turnovers, leading to 26 points off the turnovers. The Eagles' 22 offensive rebounds led to 30 second chance points.

The 38-point win was the largest margin of victory for the Eagles since they beat Chestnut Hill, 109-71 on January 25, 2020.

Up next, the Eagles will take on No. 14 ranked Dominican in a battle for first place in the CACC North on January 5 at 7 p.m.
