Philadelphia, Pa. – Justin Nogueira and Nick Meier each scored a pair of goals in a 19-8 loss to Chestnut Hill to conclude the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season for the Eagles.
The Griffins struck first in the game until Carlos Chacua tallied his ninth goal of the season to make it a 1-1 game at the 11:58 mark.
The Griffins scored the next three before the Eagles closed out with two of the next three as Mark Colella and Nogueira found the back of the net for the Eagles to cut Chestnut Hill's lead to 5-3 after the first period.
Brendan Kelleher and Dylan Heald stopped a 4-0 run from Chestnut Hill to begin the second period. The Griffins led 9-5.
The Griffins (7-2, 4-0 CACC) took a commanding lead after scoring seven straight goals in the third.
Meier tacked on his two goals in the fourth, while Nogueira scored his second with 1:25 remaining in the game.
The Eagles (0-7, 0-6 CACC) cleared 16 of their 22 opportunities on the day. Manuele D'Alessio stopped 13 shots on the day for the Eagles.
Carson Rees led Chestnut Hill with five goals.
Up next, the Eagles will play in the first round of the CACC tournament as the sixth seed at Georgian Court on May 4. A time will be set at a later date.
