Waterbury, Conn. – Morgan Cassiliano added four more goals to her season total, but the Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Wilmington, 17-7 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The loss puts both Post and Wilmington at 1-1 overall and in the CACC.
Cassiliano scored her first goal at the 26:03 mark in the first half to tie the game at 1-1.
The Wildcats scored six of the next seven goals to take a 7-2 lead, but the Eagles scored two goals in the final 2:04 as Cara DiStefano and Cassiliano scored to make it a 7-4 game at halftime.
Cassiliano's goal was scored as time expired in the first half for the second consecutive game. She scored at the buzzer at the end of the first half in Post's 16-10 win over Holy Family on April 3.
Wilmington scored seven straight goals in the second half to take a 14-4 lead at the 15:23 mark. Cassiliano added two more goals in the half and DiStefano added her second goal of the game.
Cassiliano – last week's CACC Player of the Week – now has ten goals on the season.
Christina Badaracco had seven saves for the Eagles in net on the day.
Up next, the Eagles play their final game at home on Senior Day, as they host Caldwell at 3 p.m. on April 15.
