Wilmington, De. - The Post University women's volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-21) to Goldey-Beacom on Friday evening.
The Eagles are now 8-8 on the season and 5-9 in the CACC.
Madelynn Boop led the way with 11 kills.
Lydimar Soto had three aces and
Colleen Romero had 19 digs to lead the Eagles.
After falling behind 8-4 in set one, the Eagles rallied back to make it a one-point game, thanks to a kill from
Jayda Roman and an ace by Soto. The two teams would swap the next two points before the Lightning went on a 6-1 run to take a commanding 15-9 lead. The Eagles would get no closer than three points the rest of the way.
Set two saw the Eagles take an early 3-2 lead on two kills from Boop. The Lightning used a 9-1 rally midway through the set to take a 22-13 lead. Post crept back to within six points thanks to two kills from Roman, but the Lightning scored the final two to close out.
Post jumped out to an early 5-1 lead before the Lightning scored the next four points to tie the game. With the Eagles down 15-13, kills from
Aniya Goodman and Boop helped the Eagles score the next five points to take an 18-15 lead. Both teams battled back and forth, but with the set tied 21-21, the Lightning scored the final four points to take the match.
Up next, the Eagles head to Wilmington to take on the Wildcats in their final road match of the season at 1 p.m.
