Manchester, N.H. – Devonte McCall scored 23 points, but the Post University men's basketball team lost an 85-62 game to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday evening.
The Eagles now move to 2-2 on the season.
Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 31-8 lead in the first half, before the Eagles went on a 25-17 run to close out the half and close the deficit to 48-33. McCall, Isaiah Holmes and D.J. Frechette all had seven points in the first half, with each hitting a three-pointer during the first 20 minutes of play.
The Penmen (4-0) pulled away in the second half and the Eagles did not get any closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
Abdul-Basit Ajia finished with a game-high ten rebounds to go along with seven points. Cape Holden scored eight points and hit two three-pointers. Holmes and Frechette finished with seven points apiece.
The Penmen's Aaron Gray led all scorers with 29 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including 6-for-8 from three-point range. Ryan Layman scored 15.
Up next, the Eagles play their first home game, as they host Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. at the Drubner Center on November 23rd.
