Eagles’ Offense Explodes As Men’s Soccer Routs Caldwell For Sixth Straight Win On Senior Day

Waterbury, Conn.  – Alvaro Sanchez and Andrea Savio each scored a pair of goals as the Post University men's soccer team defeated Caldwell, 5-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The win was the sixth straight for the Eagles who are now 8-5-1 overall and 8-2-0 in CACC play.

Post got on the board in just the third minute of the game as Sanchez took a rebound off a direct kick from Sergio Diaz and put home his seventh goal of the season to put the Eagles up, 1-0.

Sanchez added his second goal of the game in the 37th minute as Savio split three defenders on a pass and found a cutting Sanchez to give the Eagles the two-goal lead.

Savio got into the scoring himself just a minute later. Diaz made a pass from the right side of the box all the way to the left to find an open Savio, who secured his first goal of the season, putting the Eagles up 3-0.
Post would tack on one more goal before halftime as Sergio Diaz scored on a penalty kick to make it 4-0 going into the half.

Savio scored his second goal of the game in the 53rd minute as Diaz passed the ball across the box again deflected off a defender into Savio's foot, who scored his second goal of the game.
The Cougars would tack on two goals later in the second half.

David Mollenthiel won his sixth game in a row in net and is now 6-0-0 this season.

Post outshot Caldwell, 16-14 overall and 10-6 on shots on goal.
