Men’s Soccer Reaches Another CACC Final And Win Ninth Straight Game With Shutout Win Over Holy Family

Waterbury, Conn. – A goal from Alvaro Sanchez in the 27th minute lifted the Post University men's soccer team to its ninth consecutive win, and most importantly to their third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game as the Eagles defeated Holy Family, 1-0 on Friday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

After a pass across the field from Sergio Sanchez to Sergio Diaz, Diaz crossed a pass into the box and Alvaro
Sanchez tapped it off the side of his right foot to give the Eagles the only score they needed.

It was the fourth straight game Alvaro Sanchez has scored a goal in and it was the 12th game in the last 13 that Diaz has recorded an assist.

In goal, David Mollenthiel had three saves for his ninth straight win in net.

The Eagles played the last 50 minutes down a man after a red card in the 40th minute, but were still able to outshoot the No. 5 Tigers, 15-5 overall.

The Eagles will look for their fourth CACC Championship overall and third in the last four years when they take on No. 3 Dominican at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 14 at LaMoy Field.
