Behind Little, Women’s Soccer Holds Wilmington To Scoreless Draw

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's soccer team battled Wilmington to a 0-0 draw through two overtime periods Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field in a Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.

With the tie, the Eagles move to 3-5-1 on the season and 2-3-1 in conference action, while the Wildcats are now 5-2-2 on the year and 3-1-1 in league play.

Wilmington outshot Post 21-9, while also having a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Tayleur Little had a strong day in net for the Eagles, coming up with nine saves in 110 minute of action.
Post received two shots each from Gorgi Van lienen, Alyssa Hebb, and Hailey McGee. Hebb had the Eagles first shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball was met by the Wildcats keeper Emily Camp.

Hebb and van Lienen both tried to put Post on the board in the second half, firing off back-to-back shots in the 83rd minute, but Camp  was able to come up with a save.

With the game in overtime, the Wildcats managed to get four total shots off, but none of them found the back of the next courtesy of Little.

Post returns to the field on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. for a CACC home contest against Nyack College.
