Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's soccer team used two second half goals to defeat Nyack 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
With the win, the Eagles are now 4-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the CACC. They are now unbeaten in their last three games (2-0-1).
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles were able to get on the board early in the second half as
Imani Young took a pass from
Hailey McGee, streaked down the left side and caught Nyack goalkeeper Lea Zehringer out of place and put away her first goal of the season to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
McGee would score a goal of her own, taking a long pass and beating her defender for a one-on-one shot against Zehringer where she put in the net. It was her second goal of the season, and first since the opening game against New Haven.
Nyack would add a goal in the 85
th minute, but the Eagles were able to keep them at bay the rest of the way.
Tayleur Little, the reigning CACC Goalkeeper of the Week earned the win in net with a save.
