Philadelphia, Pa. – The Post University women's soccer team fell 2-1 on the road Saturday afternoon in a Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest against Holy Family.
With the loss the Eagles fall to 4-6-1 on the year and 3-4 in conference play. The Tigers improve to 8-2-2 overall with the win, while remaining undefeated in CACC play (7-0).
After a scoreless first half, the home team broke threw in the 50
th minute with a point blank shot from
Brenna McCarry. Post found an equalizer in the 61
st minute when
Lydia Asamoah ripped a shot from the left side of the box, beating the Holy Family goalkeeper to the lower right post. The goal is Asamoah's third of the year.
The Tigers scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 68
th minute when a shot by Ava Hooten deflected into the net.
Holy Family outshot Post 21-6, while having a slim 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Tayleur Little came up with six saves on the day for the Eagles, while Alayna McSeed made just one save for the Tigers in the win.
Post returns to the field on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Felician for a 7 p.m. CACC game.
