Waterbury, Conn. – Broghean McGovern threw for 213 yards and a touchdown, but the Post University football team lost, 56-15 to Monroe College on Saturday evening at Municipal Stadium.
After falling behind 14-0 midway through the first quarter, the Eagles got on the board on a nine yard TD run from McGovern to make it a 14-7 game with 2:22 left in the first.
The Mustangs would score one more touchdown before the end of the quarter on a score from Idrissa Nikiema, his second of the quarter on a TD pass from Shelton Applewhite. Nikiema also had a 56-yard TD catch to start the game.
Monroe took to the air for their next three scores, including two TD catches from Halim Dixon-King.

Antonio Spencer caught a 16 yard TD pass from McGovern, who converted the 2-point conversion to make it a 49-15 game. The touchdown capped a nine play, 98-yard drive.
Nick Wright finished the game with five catches for 46 yards.
Robert Oliverio also had five catches.
Drevon Yeldell had one catch for 65 yards.
Applewhite was 13-for-13 for 286 yards and four TDs for the Mustangs.
