Orangeburg, N.Y. - The Post University volleyball team fell 3-1 to Dominican on Wednesday night in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.
THE RUNDOWN:
- Lydimar Soto led the Eagles with a team-high 19 kills, followed by 11 from Jayda Roman. Colleen Romero ran the offense, picking up 40 assists on the night.
- Nelly Diaz controlled the defense with 26 digs, followed by 12 from Soto and nine from Kaitlyn Sharkey. Aniya Goodman led the Eagles with two blocks.
- Kaitlyn Carr of Dominican led all players with 20 kills, while Lily Ainsworth earned 39 assists. Aailyah Ellis led all players with five blocks.
- With the first set tied at 22-22, the Chargers rattled off the final three points with help from unforced errors by Post.
- Dominican kept its foot on the gas in the second set, running away with a 25-15 win.
- After falling behind early in the third set, Post tied the set at 15-15 on a kill from Roman that sparked an Eagle run. The Eagles would go on to close out the set with a 10-5 run that saw kills from Sharkey, Roman, Soto, and Goodman.
- With the match on the line, Post held its own throughout the majority of the fourth set. With the set tied at 22-all, Emmalyn LaPier took over, closing out the set and match with three straight kills.
