Waterbury, Conn. – Katharina Kuhne scored the Post University women's soccer team, but the Eagles fell 2-1 to Molloy in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The Eagles are now 5-8-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
Kuhne's goal came in the 65
th minute with the Eagles down 2-0. After kicking a short corner kick to
Sabrina Adamo, Kuhne received the ball back and struck a ball into the top right corner past Molloy goalkeeper Jackie Carty to cut the Eagles' deficit in half.
Molloy scored early on in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead on a Dana Poetzsch penalty kick. They'd add one more in the 27
th minute on a goal from Lexi Verni and go into the half up 2-0.
Prior to the game, five seniors were honored for Senior Day, as they played their final home game:
Sydney Rutherford,
Tayleur Little,
Gorgi van Lienen,
Taylor Brown and
Imelda Lazaro.
The Eagles will close out their regular season on Sunday as they play in the road against Chestnut Hill in a CACC match at noon.
