Rutherford, N.J. - The Post University volleyball team fell 3-2 to Felician Tuesday night in a Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.
THE RUNDOWN:
Madelynn Boop ended the night with a team-high 26 kills, followed by Kaitlyn Sharkey who finished with 10. Colleen Romero had 38 assists in the loss. The Eagles ended the night with four aces led by two from Elizabeth McGrath
Nelly Diaz led the defense with 29 digs, while Niah Messidor came up with a team-high three blocks.
Post got off to a slow start in the opening set, falling behind early, en route to a 25-14 loss.
The Eagles responded with a strong second set that only saw them trail one time. The deficit was short-lived with Aniya Goodman crushing a pass from McGrath, tying the game at 9-9. A Golden Falcon error on the next place handed the lead back to Post for good.
The third set was competitive, but unfortunately for the Eagles they could never come up with a lead after falling behind early.
Post battled for every point in the fourth set, doing everything possible to extend the game and force a fifth set. With the set tied at 23-23 the Eagles broke the deadlock on a Sharkey kill, which was followed by a Felician error for the win.
