Philadelphia, Pa. – The Post University men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 game in double overtime to Jefferson in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Saturday afternoon.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Eagles.
Post trailed 1-0 at halftime, but scored six minutes into the second half on a goal from
William Nordqvist on assists from
Carles Aliberch and
Sergio Sanchez along the top of the box.
The Eagles would take the lead in the 73
rd minute as
Fernando Duque Gonzalez headed in a corner kick from
Sergio Diaz to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead.
Jefferson's Val Mokrejs scored in the 102
nd minute in double overtime after scoring in the opening goal of the game to give Jefferson the win. The Rams scored in the 90
th minute to tie the game on a goal from David Bollman to send it in to overtime.
The Eagles outshot Jefferson 12-11 with Diaz leading the way with three.
Soren Jensen had two saves in goal.
The Eagles are now 2-4-1 in the season and 2-1-0 in the CACC.
