Philadelphia, Pa. William Nordkvist scored a game-winner in the second overtime and Sergio Sanchez added two goals as the Post University men's soccer team rallied from a two goal deficit to defeat Holy Family, 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
The Win moves the Eagles to 5-5-1 overall and 5-2-0 in the CACC.
With the game tied in overtime, Nordkvist took a pass from across the box from Alvaro Sanchez and struck home a shot into the left side of the net in the 104th minute to give the Eagles their third straight win. It was Nordkvist's third goal of the season.
After falling behind 2-0 at the half after giving up goals in the 32nd and 38th minute, the Eagles got on the board in the 65th minute as Sergio Sanchez took a short pass from Alvaro Sanchez as they both sprinted to the box with defenders draped no them and put the goal home to cut their deficit in half at the 65th minute.
Just 16 minutes later, Sergio Sanchez would score his second goal of the game, as Sergio Diaz ran into the box with the ball, passed to Sanchez who passed it back off a defender's head back to his own foot and put the ball home, eventually sending the game into overtime.
David Mollenthiel stopped three shots on the day for his third win of the season. He is 3-0-0.
The Eagles now sit alone in second place in the CACC.
