Waterbury, Conn. – Alvaro Sanchez notched his first career hat trick, all on assists from Sergio Diaz as the Post University men's soccer team defeated Nyack, 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.

The Eagles – who have won two straight games - now sit at 4-5-1 overall and 4-2 in the CACC and are in fourth place.

Sanchez scored his first goal in the 24^th minute as Diaz struck a ball from half field to Sanchez, who touched it 35 yards down field, made a move on a defender and put his shot past Nyack goalkeeper, Marco Roessle to make it a 1-0 game.

Post went into the half with the one goal lead, but eight minutes into the second half Sanchez would earn his second goal of the game off a corner from Diaz that he would volley in the net from just in front of the net to give Post the 2-0 lead.

His third and final goal came almost four minutes later as Diaz stole the ball raced down the field 20 yards and slipped a pass to Sanchez who split two defenders and take a wide open shot at the net to give the Eagles the three goal lead.

Nyack would tack on a goal in the 76^th minute for their lone tally of the game.

David Mollenthiel earned the win in net, stopping six shots on the day.
