Two Goals From Storm Give Women's Hockey Win Over Saint Michael's

South Burlington, Vt. – Freshman Sadie Storm scored two goals as the Post University women's hockey team won its second New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game of the season, a 3-1 win over Saint Michael's on Sunday.
 
With the Eagles (12-20, 2-16 NEWHA) down 1-0 in the second period, Storm scored an unassisted goal on a shot from the slot into the upper left corner of the net at the 8:59 mark of the period to tie the game up.
 
Just before the second intermission, freshman Natalie Sammons scored on a 2-v-0 break on a pass from Jenna Abeyta to give the Eagles their first lead of the game at 2-1 at the 19:19 mark.
 
Storm added her second goal of the game near the end of the third on an empty net goal on a pass from Sammons to give the Eagles the insurance goal at the 18:06 mark. Storm's 14 goals are now second on the team.
 
Senior Jenna Baumgartner stopped 52 shots for the Eagles, her second highest total of the season and fourth game of the season with 50 or more saves.
 
The Purple Knights (5-18-4, 4-13-1 NEWHA) and Eagles split the four games they played this season, 2-2.
 
Post will wrap up its regular season on Feb. 14th and 15th as it hosts Franklin Pierce at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
