Shelton, Conn. – Freshman Sadie Storm scored her 15th goal of the season in the Post University women's hockey team's loss to Franklin Pierce, 5-1 in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance game on Friday afternoon at the Rinks at Shelton.
The Eagles are now 12-21-0 on the season and 2-17-0 in NEWHA.
With the Eagles trailing 3-0 in the second, Storm took a pass from junior Gwen Lansky and hit a slap shot to the top shelf past Ravens goalkeeper, Emme Ostrander to make it a 3-1 game at the 13:33 mark. Storm is second on the team in goals.
The Ravens (12-21-0, 2-17-0 NEWHA) tacked on two more goals, including a second goal from Nicole Amato in the third period for the final tally.
In net, sophomore Kaitlyn Daly had 46 saves, tying her for the third most saves she's had in a game this season.
Post won the faceoff battle, winning 29 of 53, with senior Julia Schatz leading the way with 11 wins. Freshmen Madison Turley and Natalie Sammons each had one.
Storm and senior Molly Brumfield each led the way with four shots on goal for the Eagles.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Post's final regular season game of the year. The Eagles will be honoring their seniors before the game as part of Senior Day.
