Shelton, Conn. – The Post University men's hockey team battled to their first tie in Northeast10 play against Franklin Pierce on Friday evening, 2-2, at The Rinks At Shelton.
Post now stands at 4-16-2 overall and 1-13-1 in NE10 play.
Freshman
Jack Endghal got the scoring going, taking a pass from senior
Lucas Smith and ripped a shot in the slot past the glove of Ian Wallace to give Post the 1-0 lead at the 10:12 mark of the first.
After the Ravens tied the game in the second, the Eagles responded with a goal from
Tyler Hackett who scored his 11th goal of the year at the 13:38 mark from junior
Evan Lugo. Hackett has now scored in six of his last seven games.
However, the Ravens responded with a late goal at the 18:22 mark from Ryan Gorbett, sending the game into OT.
Junior
Brandon Brown finished with 50 saves in net. It is Brown's fourth game this season with 50 or more saves.
Prior to the game, six seniors were honored as part of senior night.
Lucas Smith, Tyler Hackett, Kyle Weiss, Mack O'Shea, Noah Wild and Matt Moreschi.
The two teams meet again on Saturday in the Cerebral Palsy Benefit game, beginning at 4 p.m. at The Rinks At Shelton.
