New Haven, Conn. – Freshman Cara DiStefano scored three goals, but the Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Southern Connecticut State University, 18-7 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
DiStefano has now scored in four straight games for the Eagles.
The Eagles fell behind 4-0 before DiStefano scored two of the next three goals in the game, making it a 5-2 game at the 19:20 mark. Junior Julia Thomas would add a goal before DiStefano would score her third goal of the half, as the Eagles trailed 9-4 heading into halftime.
Senior Jaylene Souto, freshmen Hailey McHenry and Gabrielle Fiora would score in the second half for the Eagles.
DiStefano now has seven goals on the season, and has scored multiple goals in the last two games. It is the second straight game for McHenry with a goal scored.
In net, Christina Badaracco had 12 saves on the day.
Karlie Rowe, Bayleigh Tackacs, and Steph Seymour all had four goals for the Owls (2-1, 0-0 NE10).
The Eagles (0-4) play their first home game of the season on Wednesday when they host the University of the District of Columbia at 1 p.m.
